What is a sitemap?
A sitemap is a map of your online store's content. Every Acendy store automatically generates and updates its own sitemap.
Why you should use it
- Makes it easier for Google and other search engines to get an overview of the content and structure of the online store.
- This is especially useful for new online stores as it can lead to Google indexing the pages faster.
How to submit your sitemap to Google Search Console
Please note that submitting a sitemap requires you to have already set up Google Search Console (formerly Google Webmasters Tool).
Steps:
- Log in to Google Search Console
- Select Sitemaps on the main menu to the left.
- Enter sitemap.xml after the domain of the online store.
- Press submit.
- Check that the submission is complete and approved.
