Publishing Tool (CMS)
The publishing tool is used to manage content pages such as:
- About us
- Contact us
- Privacy
- Terms of Sale
- Payment and Returns
You can also control where the pages are displayed in the online store, for example in the header or footer menu.
How to open the publishing tool (CMS)
- Go to Design → Main Menu/Content in the control panel
- Here you will get an overview of all content in the online store.
Overview of content types
In the menu on the left, you can choose which type of content you want to manage.
All pages
Shows an overview of all content pages in the online store.
For each page, you can see:
- Name
The name of the page as it appears in the online store. - Visibility
Shows where the page is available in the online store: - Header – displayed in the top menu
- Footer – displayed in the bottom menu
- A page can be displayed both places.
- Status
The on/off switch determines if the page is active. - On – the page is published
- Off – the page is deactivated
Header pages
Only shows pages available in the top menu (header)
Footer pages
Shows pages available in the bottom menu (footer)
Blog
Here you can manage blog posts in the online store.
You can:
- create new blog posts
- edit existing posts
- activate or deactivate posts
At the top of the blog overview, you will also find:
- Manage categories
Used to organize blog posts into categories. - Manage tags
Allows you to add tags for better structure and filtering. - + New blog post
Creates a new blog post.
System texts
System texts are used to manage text displayed in various parts of the online store, for example:
- footer
- purchase confirmation
- custom messages in checkout
When you edit a system text, an editing field opens where you can write and format the content.
Create a new page
How to create a new page:
- Go to Design → Main Menu/Content
- Click + New page
- Enter page name
- Enter desired content
- Choose where the page should be displayed (header or footer)
- Create
The page will now be available in the online store.
Edit a page
How to edit an existing page:
- Go to Design → Main Menu/Content
- Find the page you want to edit
- Click Edit
- Make desired changes
- Click Update
The changes will appear immediately in the online store.
Change page order
You can change the order of pages in the menu.
Here's how:
- Go to Design → Main Menu/Content
- Click and hold the drag icon to the left of the page
- Drag the page to the desired position
- Release the page
The order is automatically updated in the menu.
Activate, deactivate or hide pages
You can control whether a page is available in the online store in two ways:
- by activating/deactivating the page
- by showing/hiding the page
Activate or deactivate a page
Here's how:
- Go to Design → Main Menu/Content
- Find the page you want to change
- Use the on/off switch under Status
- On (activated) – the page is published and available in the online store
- Off (deactivated) – the page is not published and is unavailable to customers
- The change is saved automatically and appears immediately in the online store
When a page is deactivated:
- the page is not available in the online store
- it is not possible to change visibility
Change visibility of a page
Here's how:
- Go to Configuration → Content → Publishing Tool (CMS)
- Find the page you want to change
- Click Edit
- Find the field Visibility
- Select the desired option:
- Show (Display) – the page is displayed in the online store (header/footer)
- Hide (Hide) – the page is hidden in the online store (header/footer)
- Click Update
The difference between active, hidden, and deactivated:
Status | Result |

Active + Visible | The page is available and displayed in header/footer |
Active + Hidden | The page is available via direct link, but is not displayed in the header/footer |
Disabled | The page is not available in the online store |
Delete a page
How to delete a page:
- Go to Configuration → Content → Publishing Tool (CMS)
- Find the page you want to delete
- Click on the trash can icon
- Confirm deletion
Explanation of the different settings
When you create or edit a page, you will see several fields and settings that control how the page functions in the online store.
- Page Title – The name of the page as it appears in the online store.
Example:
- About Us
- Contact Us
- Payment and Returns
- Slug – Slug determines the URL of the page. Slugs are often created automatically based on the page title but can be edited manually.
Use short and descriptive URLs without special characters.
Example:
- minbutikk.no/pages/about-us
- Content – This is where you enter the actual content of the page.
- Excerpt – An excerpt is a short summary of the page.
This is primarily used for previews or page overviews. - Settings – On the right side of the page, you will find several settings.
- Status – Determines if the page is published.
- Draft – the page is not published
- Published – the page is visible in the webshop
- Published date – Allows you to determine when the page will be published. This can be used to schedule future publications.
- Expiration date – You can set a date for when the page will be automatically removed. This is useful for temporary pages, for example, during campaigns.
- Button placement – Determines where the page will be displayed in the webshop. The page can be placed in the Header, Footer, or both.
- Visibility – Determines whether the page should be shown or hidden in the webshop.
- Type – Determines what type of page this is. The default option is Default, which is used for standard information pages.

- Availability in the main menu – Determines when the page should be displayed in the webshop, based on whether the customer is logged in or not.
- Always – The page is always displayed in the webshop, regardless of whether the customer is logged in or not.
- When the customer is logged out – The page is only displayed in the main menu when the customer is not logged in. This can be useful for pages such as:
- Log in
- Create account
- When the customer is logged in – The page is only displayed in the webshop when the customer is logged in. This is often used for pages such as:
- My account
- Customer-specific pages
- SEO settings – These fields affect how the page is displayed in search engines.
- Meta title – The title that can be displayed in Google results.
- Meta description – A short description of the page that can be displayed in search results. This can contribute to a higher click-through rate from searches.
Important to know
- Changes in the publishing tool are displayed immediately in the online store
- A page must be active to be visible to customers
- You can control where the page is displayed by selecting header or footer
