Related categories
This article explains how to add related categories to products, the requirements for displaying them, and how to ensure the categories actually appear on the product page.
What are related categories?
Related categories allow you to link a single product to other relevant categories in your online store. These can be displayed directly on the product page, helping customers discover similar products or explore categories that naturally belong together.
This feature is often used to improve navigation and make it easier for customers to browse your assortment.
How to add related categories
- Go to Products → Products in your control panel and open the product you wish to edit.
- Click on the Related Categories tab.
- Find and select one or more categories.
- Save changes.
Hidden Categories
By default, hidden categories are not shown in the overview.
- Hidden categories are not available to end customers.
- Therefore, they will not be displayed on the product page.
- In practice, only visible categories can be used as related categories.
Design Requirements
Displaying related categories requires the use of the Design Builder.
- The feature is only supported in designs created with the Design Builder.
- You must add a specific section/view for related categories within your design.
Display on the Product Page
Related categories will only appear on the product page after they have been activated in the Design Builder.
