Reorder point

This article explains how to use the Reorder Point feature to manage your inventory and receive notifications when a product needs to be reordered.

Getting Started

First, you need to activate the module:

  1. Go to Apps > Your extensions
  2. Search for "Reorder Point" and activate the module.

How to Use Reorder Point

You can adjust the reorder point in several ways, either on the product page or by using bulk editing.

On the Product Page

On each product page, you'll find a new tab called Reorder Point. Here, you can adjust the level for individual products and variants.

  • Set a number of 0 or higher to activate notifications.
  • Set a number of -1 or lower to deactivate notifications.

Products without Variants
Only the main product will be displayed under the Reorder Point tab.

Products with Variants
Each variant is shown in a separate overview, allowing you to set a unique reorder point for each. If you click Deactivate, the reorder point is set to -1 and notifications are turned off when you save.

Using Bulk Editing

Bulk editing gives you full control and lets you work more efficiently. You can use display columns, filters, quick editing, and actions.

  • Columns: Add the Reorder Point column to see the current level for each product.
  • Filters:
    • Reorder Point (Quantity): Filter products based on their reorder point.
    • Reorder Point Reached (Yes/No): View only products that have or have not reached their reorder point.
  • Quick Editing: Change or deactivate the reorder point for each product directly in the overview. Remember to first show the Reorder Point column.
  • Actions: Select one or more products, click Bulk Edit, and choose Reorder Point. From here, you can deactivate notifications or set a new reorder point. For products with variants, all variants will receive the same reorder point, and variants without active notifications will be activated.

Transfer Existing Values

Did you previously use the Minimum Stock Level feature? You can transfer these values to the Reorder Point in a few simple steps.

  1. Go to the Bulk Editing overview.
  2. Select any product.
  3. Under Actions, choose Transfer Minimum Stock Level to Reorder Point.
  4. Confirm the action to start the transfer.

Once the transfer is complete, all existing minimum stock values will be set as the reorder point.

Reorder Point Settings

You can customize how and when you receive notifications. Go to Apps > Settings > Reorder Point.

  • Recipients: Enter the email addresses that should receive notifications. Use a comma to separate multiple addresses.
  • Interval: Choose whether notifications should be sent daily or weekly.
  • Interval Day: If you chose weekly, select the day of the week for notifications to be sent.
  • Notifications: The notification only shows new products that have reached their reorder point. A product will not be displayed on consecutive days unless it has been restocked and has once again reached its reorder point.

How does it work?

When a product reaches its reorder point, it is included in the email sent to the store. The product is then marked as "sent" and will not appear in subsequent emails until the stock level falls below the reorder point again.

Tip! Add a Shortcut to the Email

The outgoing email includes a button with the text "See all products at reorder point" that links to the bulk editing page. You can create your own custom view for products that have reached their reorder point and add a direct link to it in the settings, saving you time.
