Introduction to international sales
This article provides an introduction to what you need to start selling internationally. The other articles will guide you through each step mentioned below.
Important!
To use the new international sales setup, you must use the Design Builder. This solution will not work with the America, Europa, or older design templates.
Here's what you need to set up:
- VAT (Moms): You'll need to use the new tax classes to link multiple VAT rates to different countries. We've created a migration tool that allows you to transfer your existing VAT setup to the new tax classes with just a few clicks.
- Countries, Currencies, and Languages: You can activate as many countries as you want and link your desired language and currency to each country from a clear overview page in the control panel.
- Payment Methods: You must set up payment methods that accept international transactions. If you use Klarna you can receive payments from most countries.
- Shipping Methods: You need to select and configure shipping methods that deliver abroad.
- Customs Documentation: To ensure correct customs clearance of goods in the recipient country, you must use a solution for generating the necessary documents.
- Languages:
- Content Languages: When adding multiple languages, you'll need to input additional languages in the control panel. This includes product descriptions, category descriptions, etc. This is easily done via dedicated fields for different languages where needed.
- Storefront Languages: All system texts are automatically translated when a customer changes the language in your online store. You'll also find more places to input multiple languages within the Design Builder. For example, you'll need to add multiple languages where you've uploaded text on image banners.
