FAQ - Point of Sale
This article answers frequently asked questions about the Acendy POS system, covering topics from payment methods to hardware requirements.
What Payment Methods Can I Offer Customers?
You can accept the following payment methods with our POS system:
- Visa
- Mastercard
- American Express
- Diners
- AliPay
- Maestro

Can I Refund Amounts to a Customer's Card?
With our newest terminal V400M, you can refund to the customer's account.
Refunds to a card are made by scanning or searching for the customer's receipt, entering the returned products, and selecting Card as the payment method. It may take 1-2 minutes before the money is confirmed refunded to the customer. The customer can expect to receive the money within 2-3 business days.
How Do I Change the Footer on the Receipt?
You can do this in the control panel. Go to "Configuration" and select POS in the control panel. Select "Receipt: Footer" and adjust the text.
Can I Use a Discount Code in the POS?
You cannot use a discount code in the POS. To give a discount on an order or product, do the following:
Give discount on order:
After you have added products to the shopping cart, you can click on the "Discount" field in the shopping cart on the right. Enter the desired discount in percent.
Discount on product:
After you have added products to the shopping cart, you can click on a product and enter a discount in percent or set a price. You can also give a discount on the entire order.
Is It Possible to Use Multiple Cash Points?
Yes, you can have as many cash points as you want and need in your store. You will need hardware including a terminal for each cash point.
Do I Need More Than Just the App?
To use Acendy POS, you need the "Acendy POS" app and a payment terminal from us. In addition to that, you can buy a receipt printer, cash drawer, barcode reader, label printer, iPad and iPad stand in our Hardware Store.

Can Products Be Synchronized with My Online Store?
The POS is a mirror image of your online store. The products are entered in the same control panel and displayed in both the online store and the POS. You can choose to have products that are only displayed in the POS and not in the online store.
The stock status is synchronized between the POS and the online store.
How Many Products Can I Add?
You can add as many products as you want. If you have very many products, it is recommended that you use barcodes and a barcode reader to make navigation easier in the POS.
Unable to Connect to Terminal on 4G Against Shared Network From iPhone/iPad, What Is Wrong?
If the terminal has problems connecting to 4G with a shared network from iPad/iPhone, log out of iCloud on the iPad/iPhone and forget other networks that the iPad has been connected to before. When this is done, try again.
Can I Add Products That Are Only Displayed in the POS or in the Online Store?
Yes, you can do that. To choose whether products should be visible only in the online store and/or in the POS system, go to the product in the Control Panel and adjust "Visibility" and "Visibility in POS system".
Can I Split a Payment into Card and Cash?
You can easily split a payment into card and cash. When you have entered all products in the checkout, click on "Cash" and enter the amount to be paid. Select "Register payment", click on "Card" to pay the remaining amount on the card.
How to Share Network From iPad and Connect Terminal to 4G?
If your iPad supports SIM cards, you can easily connect the terminal to the iPad's network.
To share the network from the iPad, you need 4G and your iPad must be equipped with a SIM card. Open the iPad's settings > if "Shared internet" is a menu option, you have the option for a SIM card in the iPad.
When "Shared Internet" is on:
- V400m terminal: Press 9 > Green button > Enter PIN code > Network > Wi-Fi.
- S1000 terminal: Press settings > Network > Enter PIN code > Wi-Fi.
To connect the terminal to the Acendy POS app, do the following:
- Open the app and go to the menu at the top left. Select "Terminal settings".
- Enter the IP address and click save. When that is done, click on the red cross on the bank terminal four times, so it shows "Acendy makes trading easier" on the screen.
- When the calculator at the top right shows green in the app, the terminal is connected to the iPad.
Can We Get a Demo Account of the POS?
Yes, the POS can be tested. Contact salg@acendy.no and we will help you get a demonstration.
Which Devices Are Supported?
You can use an iPad or iPhone for the POS and terminal, but the device must have IOS version 9.3 or later. Other hardware that is supported for our POS can be found in Acendy's Hardware Store.
Note that currently only in our iPad app is receipt printer supported. On other devices, receipts can be printed on a regular printer or sent by SMS.
Is Acendy POS Approved by the Tax Authorities?
Acendy POS is in accordance with the new cash register system law and cash register system regulations for 2017. We take care of regulations in addition to the technical.
Is There Support for Gift Cards?
We support your customers being able to pay via gift cards such as iGive, Sentrumsgavekort and other types of gift cards supported by Nets, directly on the card terminal.
This requires that the BAX number is added to your agreement.
We also support creating your own gift cards in Acendy POS.
The gift card can be sent by SMS or printed out on the receipt printer if you use our IOS app.
We do not support the sale of gift cards with BAX.

How Is a Receipt Printed Automatically Upon Sale?
You can do this in the menu at the top left in the POS app. Select Settings and tick "ON" in the "Automatic printing of receipts" field.
What About Returns?
To process a return in the checkout, do the following:
- Click on the product so that it is added to the shopping cart.
- When the product is in the shopping cart, click on it.
- A window appears, click on "Enter as return". You can choose whether you want to give the customer money back or a credit note.
Can I Enter a Product That I Don't Have in the Product Catalog?
Yes, you can enter a product that is not in the product catalog. Click on "+PRODUCT" at the top of the shopping cart, on the right in the POS app. Under name, you can enter optional text and enter the price of the product, VAT and quantity. Then add the product to the shopping cart at the bottom right.
How Do I Reset the POS App?
If the checkout has crashed, it may work to do a local reset of the store:
Step 1: Double-click the iPad's home button.
Step 2: Swipe away the POS so that it does not run in the background.
Step 3: Scroll down to the app "POS".
Step 4: Press "Reset store" so that it lights up green.
Step 5: Open the POS and log in with your user info.
Can I Use iZettle or Other Payment Terminals?
You can only use the terminal that comes from Acendy.no. The terminal is linked to the iPad so the total amount on the checkout is transferred directly to the terminal. In that way, you avoid miscalculations when paying.
Is There Support for BankAxept?
The payment terminal does not support BankAxept. The terminal supports Visa, MasterCard and Maestro.
Can I Have Multiple Users Logged in at the Same Time?
Yes, multiple users can be logged in but not at the same time on the same cash point.
Do I Need an Online Store to Use Acendy POS?
You do not need to have an online store to use Acendy POS. There are no fixed monthly costs, you only pay for use.
Is It Difficult to Use POS?
The system is built to be easy to use. In addition, it is delivered on iPad and iPhone, which makes the use intuitive from the start. If you need help or are stuck, you will find a wealth of user guides and documentation in our help center.

Can I Change Which Products Are Displayed on the Front Page?
You can choose up to 8 products to be displayed on the front page in the POS. This is done under the "Featured products" option in the control panel.
Can a Terminal Be Used on Multiple Cash Points?
No, you must have a terminal for each cash point you have in the store.
