Kustom API Keys
This article explains how to generate and manage API keys in Kustom (formerly Klarna), and how to add them to Mystore.
Generate a New API Key in Kustom
API keys are used to connect your online store to Kustom and ensure secure communication between the systems.
Follow these steps (based on Kustom’s Help Center):
- Go to Kustom Portal and sign in.
- Click Integrations in the left-hand menu.
- Click Generate new.
- Wait while the key is created.
Once the key has been generated:
- A pop-up window will display the password (secret key).
- Copy and store the password in a secure location.
- The password cannot be retrieved after the window is closed.

Important:
If you lose the password, you must generate a new API key and delete the old one.
Add the API Key in Mystore
After copying the credentials:
- Go to Extensions → Your extensions
- Search for Klarna Checkout V3
- Click Credentials
- Enter Kustom ID (username) and Kustom Secret (password/secret key)
- Click Update ID and Secret
Delete an API Key
If you need to delete a key:
- Go to Kustom Portal → Integrations
- Click the three dots next to the relevant key
- Select Delete API Key
Important to Know
- Store API keys securely when generating them
- Never share API keys publicly
- Delete old keys that are no longer in use
Troubleshooting
"Integrations" is not visible in Kustom Portal
This is usually caused by insufficient permissions.
Solution:
- Contact your account administrator
- Request the correct permissions via User Manager in Kustom Portal
- Alternatively, ask the administrator to provide the API keys directly
