Editing a Published Theme
Editing a Published Theme
This article explains how to edit themes that are already live in your Acendy store. Only one theme can be published at a time, but you can have multiple themes in draft.
Status Indicator
The status of both the theme and the page is indicated by a badge in the top menu. These are marked with Published behind the name.
Options for Published Themes
Clicking on the theme name at the top opens a window showing all available themes.
From here, you can easily see which theme is published and which theme is currently being edited. When you open a published theme, you have several options:
Duplicate: Creates a 1:1 copy of the theme.
Rename: Changes the name of the theme.
Details: See who created the theme, when it was created, and when it was last modified.
Settings: Global settings for the entire theme, such as colors, fonts, custom CSS, and more.
Preview: Preview opens the theme in a new tab so you can see the design in the store without publishing. The link that is generated is public and can be shared if you want to send the design to others.
Design and Settings
To change the design and theme settings, make sure the theme you want to modify is selected.
The theme displayed in the top menu is the theme you are currently editing. If you open the theme selector, you will also see that the theme currently selected for editing has the Editing badge to the right of the name.
Once you are sure the correct theme is selected, close the theme selector to access all sections and blocks in the left menu.
Customize Design
Close the theme selector by clicking the x button in the upper right corner of the side menu. You should then see an overview of all sections on the selected page.
From here, you can add, remove, or change both sections and blocks.

Change Theme Settings
Change theme settings such as colors, text, product, CSS, etc., as follows:
Open the theme selector so that all themes are displayed in the side menu.
Open the drop-down menu for the theme you are editing.
Click “Settings”.
You will now open a separate side menu with all available theme settings.
Note that several of these require advanced mode to be active.
Saving Changes
Save and Publish
When editing a published theme, note that the default storage option is "Save and Publish." This means that changes that are saved are immediately visible to the end customer in the online store.
Save as Draft
If you do not want to publish the change immediately, you can choose to save the change as a draft by clicking the arrow to the right of "Save and Publish" and selecting "Save as Draft." A new draft of the current page being edited in the theme will then be created. The new draft will not be published automatically.
