How to perform inventory count
How to Count Products in the Control Panel
This guide explains how stocktaking works and the different options available along the way.
Overview
When you first open stocktaking, you will be met with a dashboard that gives you quick access to necessary information, such as help articles, video guides, and the number of unconfirmed counts.
In addition, you will be able to see the latest stock value from the stock value report.
Counting Products
Open the count by clicking on "Perform count" in the side menu or through the blue button on the dashboard.
Selection
Before you start the actual count, you can make a selection of the products you want. This is done through filters and searches.
Filter
Click on "+ Filter" in the blue menu line.
From here, you can choose to filter the selection in several ways, including by manufacturer.
Search
In the same menu line, you can add a predefined search. For example, you can search for a specific product name to display products that match the search.
Search supports:
Product name
Article number
EAN (Barcode)
Storage location
Ps! You can always go back to "Perform count" to adjust the selection and then continue the count as before.
Counting
When you are ready to count, press "Perform count".
Search for the product you want to count. You can search by name, barcode, or article number. You can also scan a barcode directly into the search field. When the search result is displayed, count each individual product by clicking + or - in the counter.
Search for the product using the name, article number, or barcode (EAN)
Use the counter's plus and minus buttons to adjust the count
Undo Count
If you regret a count along the way, you can click on the "Undo" button. This will remove the quantity you have counted, and the product will appear as uncounted.
Reset Product
If you want to reset the current stock level of a product, you can do this by turning on "Mark for reset". With this activated, the existing stock will be set to 0 upon confirmation of the count.
Cancel this marking by undoing the count or counting a number.
The product will also be marked with "Reset" in open counts.
Scanning Products
The stocktaking has a separate mode for scanning products. In this mode, it is only possible to scan barcodes; you cannot search for products.
Scanning products supports browsers (Pc/Mac), tablets and mobile as long as you have a barcode reader connected.
Start scanning mode by pressing the scanner button to the right of the search field.
When this mode is active, you can scan without having to focus on the search field. When a product is scanned and the count is confirmed, the screen flashes green and a confirmation sound is heard. You will also see the two most recently scanned products at the bottom of the screen.
When you receive confirmation of the count (the screen flashes green), you are ready to scan a new product.
Error handling:
If a scan fails, or if there is more than one product linked to the barcode, the screen will flash red and you will receive a separate sound alert indicating an error.
If this happens, you must manually cross away the error message to be able to scan further.
Multiple simultaneous scans
It is entirely possible for multiple users to scan simultaneously. You can even scan the same product at the same time.
However, you cannot count a product manually at the same time as you are scanning it.
Exit scan mode.
If you want to exit scan mode, simply click on the button "Exit mode for scanning".
You can go in and out of scan mode as much as you want.
