Get started with advertising on Google Ads
Google is the world's largest sales channel, and the majority of purchases start with a Google search. By advertising on Google, you have the opportunity to be visible at the top of Google's search results, in addition to image advertising (display) on over a million websites.
Necessary Google accounts
When advertising on Google Ads, there are four different Google accounts we recommend you set up:
- Google Ads: Google Ads is Google's advertising platform where you create and optimize your Google ads. Here you can set up campaigns that make your ads visible on Google Search, Google Shopping, and Google's Display network, which includes more than a million different websites.
- Google Analytics: Google Analytics is used to gain insight into the traffic to the online store and how customers use the online store. Here you get an overview of which channels drive traffic and sales to your online store. The tool is also recommended for analyzing Google ads.
- Remember to link Google Ads and Google Analytics.

- Google Search Console: Google Search Console helps you measure the online store's organic (free) traffic and results via Google's search results. In Search Console, you can check the indexing of your online store, ranking of keywords, and get an overview of any error messages.

- Google Merchant Center: Google Merchant Center lets you manage how your products appear on Google. For example, if you want to use Google Shopping, your products must be approved via Google Merchant Center.

Product catalog using Google Shopping
Google Shopping is the most effective advertising format for online stores. It is an ad type that allows you to showcase your products in Google's search results with product images, product names, prices and the online store's name.
When using Google Shopping, our Google Shopping integration is recommended. The integration provides you with a product catalog of your online store that you enter into Google Merchant Center to get the products approved for Shopping. The integration also makes it easier for you to keep the product information up to date as it is updated daily.

Track more events with Google Tag Manager
If you want to track more than just sales, Google Tag Manager may be the solution. In Tag Manager you can set up event tracking on micro-conversions such as newsletter subscriptions.
