Shipping with automatic price calculation
What is automatic price calculation?
When automatic shipping pricing is enabled, the shipping cost is calculated based on the carrier’s own price tables. The price is calculated based on factors such as:
- weight
- destination
- shipping product
- any additional services
This provides the customer with a more accurate shipping price during checkout.
How automatic shipping pricing works
When a customer goes to checkout, the system will:
- calculate the total weight of the order
- use the customer’s postal code
- look up the price in the carrier’s pricing table
The correct shipping price is then displayed in checkout.
Bring – available shipping methods
Pick-up point delivery (Pakke til hentested)
The package is delivered to a Bring pick-up point near the customer. You can choose automatic price calculation or a fixed price.
Typical characteristics:
- tracking included
- delivery to pick-up point
- maximum weight: 35 kg
Parcel in mailbox (Pakke i postkassen)
The package is delivered directly to the customer’s mailbox if it meets the size requirements.
Requirements:
Maximum weight
- 5 kg
Maximum dimensions
- Maximum length: 45 cm
- Length + width + thickness: max 90 cm
Maximum dimensions for rolls
- Maximum length: 45 cm
- Length + diameter + diameter: max 90 cm
Home delivery (Pakke levert hjem)
The package is delivered directly to the customer’s address. You can set a fixed price, but automatic price calculation using Bring’s price list is recommended.
Bring offers delivery to most addresses in Norway.
Delivery times:
- daytime (08:00–17:00)
- evening (17:00–21:00)
This varies depending on location.
Posten Letter Post (Posten Brevpost)
Sends items as letters via Posten. The shipping price is calculated automatically based on weight and postal code.
Note: The store does not support calculations based on height, width, or depth.
Business Parcel (Pakke til bedrift)
Delivery to business addresses. The shipping price is calculated automatically based on Bring’s pricing tables.

General Cargo to Business (Stykkgods til bedrift)
Used for larger shipments transported by truck or train within Norway.

PostNord – available shipping methods
PostNord Collect
The package is delivered to the customer’s nearest PostNord pick-up point.
Typical characteristics:
- delivery to pick-up point
- tracking included
- can use fixed price or automatic price calculation
PostNord Home Small
Delivery directly to the customer’s mailbox.
Requires integration with Profrakt/Logistra.
Can be used with:
- automatic pricing
- fixed shipping price
PostNord Home
Home delivery to the customer during daytime or evening.
- notification via SMS or email
- delivery can be scheduled via My Pages or phone
- delivered to a designated location at ground level
PostNord General Cargo (PostNord Stykkgods)
Used for larger shipments and parcels above 35 kg.
- This solution can combine individual parcels and pallets in one shipment
- The shipping price is calculated automatically based on PostNord’s rates
Important to know
Availability of shipping methods may vary depending on carrier agreements and which integrations are activated in your store.
For automatic shipping pricing to work:
- the shipping method must be installed
- the shipping method must be activated
- products must have weight registered
- the store must have the correct sender address
You can find the sender address under:
Configuration → General → Shipping / Packing
Common causes of incorrect shipping prices
Automatic shipping calculation may be incorrect if:
- products are missing weight
- the postal code is not supported by the shipping method
- the shipping method is not active
- the wrong shipping zone is selected

- the store name
- which shipping method it concerns
- the postal code used in checkout (and which products were in the order)
