Connecting a domain

Connecting a domain

This article explains how to set up your domain to point to your online store on our platform.

What is a domain?

A domain is the address used to connect your website to the internet. For example, "acendy.no" is a domain name.

When you activate an online store with us, the store is assigned an internal Acendy name. This internal name might be "mystore.acendy4.no", where "storename" is the name you entered when you created the demo store. Before you connect your own domain name to the online store, this internal name is used to view the store and log in to the control panel to make changes.

To fix your domain, you need help from a domain provider. When you own a domain and have connected it to our IP addresses, you can start using it. The process for connecting the domain varies depending on your domain provider, but it usually involves setting up CNAME and A records with specific values. After you have set up the domain, it can take up to 24 hours before everything is configured correctly. If the domain is not marked as "TLS" within 24 hours, you should contact customer support for assistance.

Existing service on domain?

If you have an existing online store or service on your domain that you are moving from, it is very important that you lower the TTL on the domain so that users experience minimal disruption during the transition. If you don't know how to do this, we recommend that you contact your domain provider for assistance.

Can I have my stor on a sub domain?

We unfortunately do not support online stores on subpages (e.g. /store/). Instead, we recommend creating the online store on a subdomain, for example "store.storename.no".

Adding you domain in the control panel

To connect a domain to your store, you must specify what the domain for your store is. You do this in the control panel via Configuration > Domain. The domain should be registered without WWW in front, but if a subdomain is used, e.g. shop.storename.no, this must be specified.

This process is recommended and done during a period of minimal traffic for established online stores.

Obs! - Certificate will not be available right away and the domain cannot be set as the primary domain. This process can take up to 24 hours, if the domain is not marked as TLS within 24 hours, contact customer support.

Host provider setup

This setup is the same regardless of which domain provider you use, but the interface of the providers will vary. If you can't figure it out, we recommend you contact your domain provider for help. Below you will find the setup in the most used domain providers among our customers.

This is done at the domain provider
Cname should be set to load.mystore4.no
A-record is set up to IP 54.195.240.169 and 52.17.124.116 at the top level.

Domeneshop.no
  1. Log in to Domeneshop
  2. Click on Mine domener
  3. Click on the domain to be set up
  4. Select the DNS-pekere tab
  5. Select Vis avanserte innstillinger
  6. Create two A records with the following information:
    • Vertsnavn: leave this blank
    • TTL: 10800 (3 timer)
    • RR-type: A
    • Data: 54.195.240.169

    Then press +

    • Vertsnavn: leave this blank
    • TTL: 10800 (3 timer)
    • RR-type: A
    • Data: 52.17.124.116

    Then press +

  8. Set up Cname record with the following information:
    • Vertsnavn: www
    • TTL: 10800 (3 timer)
    • RR-type: Cname
    • Data: load.mystore4.no

    Then press +

  9. You can now go to the last step setting the domain as the primary domain in the online store's control panel.
  10. Legge til SPF i Domeneshop. Be om SPF fra Kundeservice@acendy.no
    1. Click on Mine Domener
    2. Search for the domain if you have several and click on the given domain
    3. Click on DNS-Pekere and activate avanserte Innstillinger
    4. Then add DKIM: Hostname, 1 hour, Txt format and your SPF DKIM text without "in front and behind. Then press add +
    5. Then add Return-Path: Hostname, 1 hour, Cname and Value. Then press add +
  11. You have now set up general SPF and Domain at Domeneshop.no
Domene.no
  1. Log in to Domene
  2. Click on Domenenavn
  3. Click Administrere on your domain
  4. Click on Kontrollpanel under Direkte innlogging
  5. You will now be forwarded to "cPanel"
  6. Click on Zone Editor under Domener
  7. Click on Behandle on your domain
  8. Add two A Records:
    1. Click on + Legg Til Post
      • Navn: [domain name]. (Viktig that you include a period at the end, e.g. butikknavn.no.)
      • Type: A
      • Oppføring: 54.195.240.169

      Then press Save Record

    2. Repeat the step above with this value.
      • Navn: [domain name]. (Viktig that you include a period at the end, e.g. butikknavn.no.)
      • Type: A
      • Oppføring: 52.17.124.116

      Then press Save Record

  9. Add a Cname Record:
    1. Click on + Legg Til Post
      • Navn: www.[domain name]. (Viktig that you include a period at the end, e.g. www.butikknavn.no.)
      • Type: Cname
      • Oppføring: load.mystore4.no

      Then press Save Record

  10. You can now go to the last step setting the domain as the primary domain in the online store's control panel.
One.com
  1. Log in to the One.com control panel.
  2. Click on DNS-innstillinger under the Avanserte innstillinger tab.
  3. Go to DNS-oppføringer.
  4. Under opprett ny oppføring click on A.
    • Vertsnavn: leave this blank
    • IP-adresse: 54.195.240.169
    • TTL: 10800

    Click Opprett ny oppføring to save the settings.

  5. Then repeat with this value:
    • Vertsnavn: leave this blank
    • IP-adresse: 52.17.124.116
    • TTL: 10800

    Click Opprett ny oppføring to save the settings.

  6. Under opprett ny oppføring click on Cname.
    • Underdomenet: www
    • Alias: load.mystore4.no
    • TTL: 10800

    Click Opprett ny oppføring to save the settings.

  7. You can now go to the last step setting the domain as the primary domain in the online store's control panel.
  8. Legge til SPF i One.Com Be om SPF fra Kundeservice@acendy.no
Proisp.no
  1. Log in to Pro ISP.
  2. Press on Domener
  3. Press + on your domain
  4. Press on DNS kontroll
  5. Create two Arecord with the following information:
    • Tjener: leave this blank
    • Type: A
    • A data: 54.195.240.169

    Then press Legg til

    • Tjener: leave this blank
    • Type: A
    • A data: 52.17.124.116

    Then press Legg til

  7. Create Cname record with the following information:
    • Tjener: www.[domain name] (eks: www.butikknavn.no)
    • Type: Cname
    • Cname data: load.mystore4.no

    Then press Legg til

  8. You can now go to the last step setting the domain as the primary domain in the online store's control panel.
Webhuset.no
  1. Log in to Webhuset
  2. Press the globe for the domain:
  3. Press on Ny oppføring and select A-oppføring
    • Oppføring: leave this blank
    • Mål: 54.195.240.169

    Then press Opprett

  4. Repeat step 3. with the following information:
    • Oppføring: leave this blank
    • Mål: 52.17.124.116

    Then press Opprett

  5. Press on Ny oppføring and select Cname-oppføring
    • Oppføring: www
    • Alias av: load.mystore4.no

    Then press Opprett

You can now go to the last step setting the domain as the primary domain in the online store's control panel.

Add primary domain

Once the Cname and A record are set up, it will take some time before this is pushed out around the world, this can vary greatly. Normally this will take about 4 hours.

Before you can set the domain as the primary domain, there must be a certificate, we issue this automatically within 24 hours from the domain being pointed to us. The domain will be marked as TLS when this is in order. You are then ready go to Configuration > Domain and set the domain as "Primary domain".

This is necessary to get links in your online store to point correctly.

Verify your Domain

Before you can use your domain in the control panel, it must be verified. The procedure for verification is described in this article.
