Campaign Center v3 — Category sync

Category sync links a campaign to a storefront category. When the campaign runs, products are added to that category automatically — and optionally the category itself is shown or hidden on the storefront at the right time.

Setting up category sync

From the campaign detail page, find the Sync with category card and click Add sync. Select the category you want to link from the category picker.


Sync options

Once a category is selected, three options control what happens during the campaign:

Option

What it does

Keep products in category after campaign ends

When unchecked (default), products are removed from the category when the campaign ends. Enable this to leave them in the category permanently.

Activate category when campaign starts

Makes the category visible on the storefront when the campaign activates. Useful if the category is hidden outside of promotions.

Deactivate category when campaign ends

Hides the category from the storefront when the campaign ends.

These options can be combined. A typical Black Friday setup would activate the category on start, deactivate it on end, and leave Keep products in category unchecked — so everything cleans up automatically when the campaign ends.


Sync status

The Sync with category card on the campaign detail page shows the current sync state at a glance:

Indicator

Grey icon —

Not configured

No category is linked.

Green icon —

Category name

Sync is active and the category exists.

Amber icon —

Category #N not found

The linked category has been deleted. Click

Settings

to select a replacement or disable sync.


Disabling category sync

Open the sync settings modal, toggle Sync with category off, and save. The category link is removed and no further automatic changes will be made to the category when the campaign activates or deactivates.
