Rejected products: Missing GTIN Number
Rejected Products Due to Missing GTIN Number
This article explains the importance of GTIN numbers for products in Google Shopping campaigns and how to add them to your Acendy store.
Why GTIN Numbers are Important and Where to Add Them
Google requires a GTIN (Global Trade Item Number), if one exists, for products to be used in Google Shopping campaigns. The GTIN is usually found on the product's packaging if it has a barcode, or it may be included on a list with the delivery. If you cannot find it, contact the manufacturer for more information.
The benefits of having your products approved for display include increased visibility and a higher likelihood of sales, as it gives Google more data to work with.
Finding the List of Rejected Products
- Log in to Google Merchant Center.
- Click on Products.
- Select Diagnostics to see the overview.
- Download the list of rejected products with Invalid value [identifier exists].
Finding Your GTIN Number
Here you can read more about where to find your GTIN number, as well as see examples of what such a number may look like.
Adding GTIN Numbers to Products
There are several ways to add GTIN codes to your products:
- Manually: Add them in the Acendy control panel by editing product information and entering the number in the Barcode (GTIN) field.
- Import/Export App: Use the Import/Export app to bulk edit products.
Creating GTIN Numbers
In our control panel, you can create barcodes under "Tools" -> "EAN print".
Barcodes that are generated can only be used for your own use. If you have an integration with a third party (e.g. Google Shopping, Facebook, etc.) these usually require you to have approved EAN codes. You can get such codes from e.g. www.gs1.no.
