Subscriptions

This help article provides an overview of how subscription schemes appear on the product page, in the shopping cart, and in Klarna Checkout, as well as how they are managed in the control panel.

Introduction

With the subscription service, you can sell your products to customers at fixed or optional intervals. Customers have the option to choose how often they want to receive the products, and new orders are automatically created when it's time for a new delivery. All you need to do is process the orders as usual. You can choose whether the products should follow the price at the time of ordering or any price changes to the product.

The payments for the orders are made automatically with Klarna, and you receive the settlement as normal.

In the control panel, you can easily choose whether all or selected products should be offered as a subscription. For example, if you want all products in a specific category to be available as a subscription, you can easily add the subscription tag via the bulk editor.

As an incentive, you can choose to offer a discount on the first order. You can also choose to offer a fixed discount on subsequent orders.

Setup in the Control Panel

When the app is installed in your online store, we will add the standard intervals you want to offer for the subscription schemes. We also customize the setup so that it works seamlessly with your current system.

Settings That Must Be Set Up Before First Use

  • Shipping price for subscriptions
  • Intervals to be displayed in the store
  • Floating or fixed product price
  • Subscription on all or selected products

Activating Subscription Scheme on Products

To activate the subscription scheme on a product, follow these steps:

1: Add the tag "abb" via the "Tagger" tab on the product page.

Tips!

When you have entered the tag on your first product, you can use the "Bulk editor" tool to enter the tag on the rest of the products that will be offered on subscription.

How to Give a Discount

You can choose whether you want to offer a fixed discount on subscription orders or a discount on the first order. This is determined via tags.

Fixed Discount

Use the tag "abb_rabatt_prosent" - enter 20 for 20% discount.

Discount on First Order

Use the tag "abb_rabatt_forste_prosent" - enter 20 for 20% discount.

Display in the Online Store

Product Page

When customers visit the product page, they will have the option to order the product with or without a subscription scheme. This option gives customers flexibility in the purchasing process.

Shopping Cart and Klarna Checkout

In the shopping cart, customers can easily choose how often they want to receive the products. This makes it convenient for them to customize the subscription scheme according to their needs.

In Klarna Checkout, it will be clear to the customer that they are making the purchase with a subscription. This provides a clear overview of the type of purchase they are making and the payment terms that apply.

How to Manage in the Control Panel

Order Processing

Orders are created automatically based on the interval customers choose when purchasing. The orders are marked as subscription orders in the overview, and the orders can be processed and sent as ordinary orders.

Manage Subscriptions

By navigating to Orders/Customers > Recurring orders, you get access to the administration of your subscription orders. Here you get an overview of all the subscriptions that have been created in your store. In the overview, you can choose to change the interval, pause, cancel, or create a new order.

Faq - Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if Klarna does not approve the order?

If a payment does not go through, it gets the status "cancelled". We will attempt to charge the order the next day for up to 3 days. If it does not go through, this attempt is dropped, and the next attempt will be at the next interval.

The solution requires approval from Klarna and that you have Klarna Checkout v3.

To check if your agreement supports subscriptions, you can contact Klarna and provide your Merchant ID, which you can find under Configuration > General > Klarna in the Acendy control panel.
