Stock value report
The stock value report stores a daily overview of your stock, so you can easily see stock value and sales value.
How it works
After activation, the report takes a snapshot of the store's stock every night at 00:00.
The following day, you can look up the report to see both stock levels, stock value and sales value of your entire stock.
Each snapshot is saved so you can go back in time to see the stock.
You can find the stock report by going to Tools > Logistics > Stock Value Report
.
What does the report contain?
The basis that is generated contains the following fields:
- Item Number
- Product Name
- Purchase Price
- Sales Price (excl. VAT)
- Physical Stock
- Manufacturer
- Total Purchase Price
- Total Sales Price
In addition, a timestamp is stored to show exactly when the basis was generated.
Summarizing value and stock
The rows are summarized in the following ways:
Purchase price * Physical stock = Stock value
Sales price * Physical stock = Sales value
Total sales value/stock value is the sum of the fields above.
Example:
Product | Purchase Price | Physical Stock | Stock Value |
Yellow sweater | 100 | -2 | -200,00 |
Blue sweater | 100 | 3 | 300,00 |
Total Stock Value | 100,00 |
An item should never have less than 0 in physical stock. Even if you oversell items, the physical stock should not go lower than 0. In the event of overselling, it is the available that goes into minus.
Use and functionality
After the service is activated, you will find it under Tools > Logistics > Stock Value Report
.
Note that the generation first happens at 00:00 so the result is not ready until the day after activation.
When you open the report, you must first select the date you want to see the stock for.
Then the report loads and you will see a table with the fields mentioned above.
The report is only intended for viewing values and therefore does not support multiple columns, or changing the columns that are there.
At the bottom of the table you can see a summary of the entire selection in the report.
- Total Stock Value excl. VAT
The sum of all item lines' stock value - Total Sales Value excl. VAT
The sum of all item lines' sales value - Stock Level
Total number of products and variants in stock
Sorting
Sorting is available on each column in the report.
Date selector
Choose which date you want to see the stock value. New bases are generated every night.
The date selector only supports single days and you cannot select a date period.
Filter
To make it easier to create a selection of products, there are some filters available:
- Physical Stock
Only show items that have physical stock within the number you choose - Manufacturer
Only show items from the selected manufacturer. It is possible to select several manufacturers. - Hide Negative/Zero in Stock
Hides all items that have 0 or fewer in stock - Only Show Negative/Zero in Stock
Only shows items that have 0 or fewer in stock. This can be a good way to clean up your stock as physical stock should never be less than zero.
Grouping
Grouping allows you to group all items per manufacturer and thus see the value and stock level at the manufacturer level.
Search
The search field allows you to search for product name and item number.
You can also specify to search only within name or item number by first writing "MODEL:" followed by item number, or "NAME:" followed by product name.
Combine filter and search
You can of course also choose to combine filter and search to get exactly the selection you are looking for.
Export
If desired, the report can be exported to CSV.
The export takes into account filters and searches. This means that if you have chosen to filter on e.g. manufacturer, only the result shown in the report will be included in the export.
To export, click on "Export", give the file a name and click "Export →". The finished generated export is placed in "Export Archive", located in the menu on the left.
PS! If you have chosen to group by manufacturer, the export will also be grouped.
