Product tag

This article explains what product tags are, how to activate them on products, and which tags are available in Acendy – including what they are used for and when they are relevant.

What is a product tag?

Product tags are used to modify a product, how it functions, or to enable specific features on the product in the system.

Examples of use:

  • create gift cards
  • add ribbons to product boxes
  • exclude specific shipping methods
  • enable subscription solutions

How to activate a product tag

  1. Go to Products → Products and open the product you want to edit
  2. Click on Tags in the left sidebar
  3. Activate the desired tag:
    • switch (off/on), or
    • input field if the tag requires a value
  4. Save the product

Adding new tags

Available tags are managed by Acendy.

  • New tags must be added and configured by an Acendy employee
  • Missing a tag? Contact customer service

Available product tags

Gift card (giftcard)

Used to create gift cards in Acendy.

  1. Create a regular product
  2. Enter name, description, and image
  3. Activate the tag giftcard

Klarna subscription (abb)

Used if you use Klarna Subscription

  • The tag abb must be added to the product for the subscription solution to work

Custom ribbon (custom_ribbon)

Allows you to display a ribbon on product boxes, for example NewBestseller or Sale

  1. Activate the tag custom_ribbon
  2. Enter the desired text as value

Exclude shipping methods (exclude_shipping_option)

Used to prevent certain shipping methods from being selected if the product is in the shopping cart.

  1. Enter the shipping method's ID in the tag's data field
  2. The shipping method's ID can be found in shipping administration in the control panel

Multiple shipping methods:

  • Enter multiple IDs, comma-separated
  • Example:
    bringipostkassen,mystorehomesmall,bringservicepakke
