Clerk Search
The Clerk Search block has no direct function in the Design Builder. It is a button that can be visually customized and is then used by Clerk to activate a search.
Search integration is handled by Clerk.
Before you start
Clerk Search depends on the Clerk.io integration. If you do not have Clerk active in your store, this block is not available in the Design Builder. You activate Clerk via the integration area in your store — when it is active, the block appears in the list of header blocks.
What it shows
A search trigger — either a button with a label or an icon — that opens Clerk's search experience. Clerk returns instant product suggestions and search results as the customer types, ranked by the recommendation engine.

Layout and visibility
- Font size — the size of the label.
- Inner spacing (padding) — space inside the trigger.
- Width-settings for desktop, tablet, and mobile.
- Custom CSS class and block conditions for advanced styling and show/hide rules.
Tips
- Use either Clerk search or the regular search field, not both — two search fields in one header confuse customers.
- Hover colors are worth setting; a search trigger that responds visually feels more clickable.
- The quality of Clerk's results depends on the product feed being correctly set up in the Clerk account. If the results look wrong, check the feed there, not this block.
