Create a design that sells
Create a design that sells
This checklist will guide you through banner images, image editing, and design settings. You can find the design settings either via the shortcut in your online store, or via the control panel > Design > Your design > Design settings for template.
1. Choice of design template
We have two different design templates to choose from: America (9,999 kr) and Europa (Free).
Each of the templates has its own pre-set versions that you can choose from - and then adapt them to your own wishes. It is these versions that have been given the names: Rio, Santiago, Berlin, etc.
During your demo period, you can switch between these as much as you want without cost, but please check This is what you should consider if you are going to change templates to see what is "reset" and which you must therefore redo if you change.
2. Upload logo
You upload a logo in your control panel, go to design > upload logo.
This is also where you upload a favicon (the small logo that appears at the top of the tab/address bar in the browser).
A good and professional logo is crucial for creating a strong and recognizable brand, as well as helping to create a lasting and positive impression with your customers.
When uploading the logo, it is important to follow the guidelines for optimal viewing.
We recommend the size 300 x 100 pixels (W/H), but if the logo is to cover the entire top of the page, it should be 500 x 100 pixels (W/H).
Make sure to use JPEG, GIF or PNG format for the image.
3. Colors
- Use colors consciously and feel free to pick up colors from your logo
- Choose 2-3 colors for the online store so that you can keep a "common thread"
- Remember to think about contrast, so that buttons and texts are visible. Also for those with impaired vision.
Colors can be changed in the design settings in the control panel. For example, if you want to change the color of the buttons in your store. Go to Design > Design settings > Colors > General.
4. Top line and menu
In the design settings you will find a point for the top line, menu and bottom line. Here you can
adjust the menu and top of the online store, for example whether you want a centered or left-aligned logo.
- Add a slogan in the top line
- Check settings for the menu - test different possibilities
- Go over the info you want to show in the bottom line
We recommend that you add slogans or so-called UPSer (Unique Selling Points) in your top line. This is an excellent way to showcase the benefits of shopping in your store. Or show important information about, for example, shipping and delivery time.
Read more about settings for top line and menu here.
5. Font types and sizes
We have made it easy for you to get it tidy in the online store when it comes to the use of fonts. You edit the fonts under Design>Your design > Design settings for "your template".
- You can choose from a number of Google fonts.
- You choose 2 fonts in your online store. (Main font and font for headings).
- You can choose between 3 thicknesses on headings.
- Keep in mind that the font you choose should be easy to read.
6. Banner images
Large parts of your front page are usually the banners/images you show to customers. Think about what message you want to convey and what atmosphere you want to set for your store.
- Have a tidy and inviting front page
- Build trust and credibility
- Show off what you sell
- Tempt customers to scroll and click on
- Use environmental images, not just product images
- Feel free to have a call to action on the images - something that triggers the customer to click on it and that says something about where they will end up. F.ex: See all our dresses here.
More info on where to add banner images and link them to links can be found here: https://support.acendy.no/knowledge/designmal-america#Bannerbilder
7. Product images
Perhaps unnecessary to say, but good product images are crucial for the customer to feel safe enough to put the item in the shopping basket.
- Have good pictures - both clean product pictures and environmental pictures
- Show the product in use - inspire the customer
- Have more pictures than one (max 8) - this increases the conversion
- Have the same size /format on the pictures, this looks tidier
- Do not have too large images - then it takes a long time to load the page. Neither google nor the customer likes this.
- Recommended size of the images 1000 x 1000 px (if square, you can also have another format of course)
8. Visit your own store
It is important that you know how your store is experienced by customers. Therefore, have a routine that you visit your store after you have made changes to see how it turned out.
You can go to the online store by clicking on the "house icon" in the upper right corner of your control panel.
When you are logged in to your control panel and visit your own store, you will see a shortcut back to the control panel in the bottom left corner. This is good to know about. It can send you directly to relevant pages in the control panel from the online store.
