This article explains how to easily create and use discount codes, either via email or popup.

Creating Discount Codes

Creating a Unique, Single-Use Discount Code per Customer

Follow these steps to create a discount code that can be used only once by each customer:

• Go to Discount Codes and click the plus button to create a new discount code.
• Give the code a descriptive name.
• Select "Yes" under "Unique discount code".
• Select "No" under "Discount code template".
• Select the validity period for the discount code.
• Enter the discount amount (currency or percentage).
• Click the save button.

Creating a Discount Code That Cannot Be Combined with Other Discounts

To create a unique discount code that cannot be combined with other discounts, you must first create a template in Mystore.

• In the Mystore control panel, open the discount center (Main Menu > Tools > Discounts). Create a new discount code as a template.
• Define the rules for the discount code.
• Copy the discount code's name and use this as the name in Personalized Shopping.
• Each customer will receive a unique discount code based on the rules you defined in Mystore.

Creating a Discount Code for Multiple Users

Follow these steps to create a discount code that can be used multiple times by different customers:

• Create the discount code in Mystore (Tools > Discounts). Define the rules (duration, whether it applies to sale items, etc.). Copy the discount code's name.
• Enter the discount code in Personalized Shopping (Discount Codes > Discount Codes). Give it an internal name. In the "Discount code" field, enter the name from step 1.
• Choose whether you want to offer the discount code via popup or email (see below).

Offering a Discount Code via Email

To offer a discount code through email, you first need to create it in the control panel.

Create the discount code

Before you can add a discount code to the email, you must create it in the control panel. The control panel manages the discount system. Navigate to Tools > Discounts in the control panel to get started. Once the discount code is created, you can add it to the email builder.

Follow these steps:

• Open the email you want to edit.
• Drag and drop the "Discount" component from the menu into the email.
• Click the gear icon on the "Discount" button > Select "Select a discount code".
• Copy the name of the discount code you created in the control panel into the "Code" field.
• Click "Save".
• Save the email.

Pros: You ensure that the customer's email is genuine. This is better for later marketing.

Cons: More steps can lead to a slightly lower conversion rate.

Offering a Discount Code via Popup

A popup can be effective for getting customers to subscribe to newsletters.

Follow these steps:

• Click on Add discount.
• Select an existing or create a new discount code.
• Copy the text

• (shown in a blue frame). Close the window.
• Enter the discount code in the field for Success along with the desired text.

Pros: The customer gets direct access to the code, increasing conversion.

Cons: No guarantee that the email address is correct.

Activate Discount Code Reminder

This article explains how to activate and configure the discount code reminder to help your customers remember the code they received. The discount code reminder is a feature that displays a small "gift package" icon in the corner of the screen after a customer has received a discount code. The customer can click on the icon to see the discount code again and copy it.

Follow these steps to activate and customize the discount code reminder:

• Go to the menu on the left.
• Select "Settings".
• In the submenu, select "Discount Code".
• Under the "Discount Code Reminder" section, you can:
  • Change the status (activate or deactivate the feature).
  • Change the color of the icon.
  • Add a short text description (optional).
