Block — Description
Description displays the product's description text on the card. It is suitable when a short sentence helps the customer distinguish products from each other already in the list.
What the block does
The block displays the product's description. You choose whether it should fetch the short or the long description, and how many lines it can use before the text is truncated.
Settings
Setting | What it does |

Background color | Background behind the text. Transparent by default. |
Show long description | When enabled, the full description is used instead of the short one. |
Line clamp | Max number of lines before the text is truncated (1–5, or no limit). Default is no limit. |
Column width | How wide the block is in the row, out of 8 columns. |
Inner spacing | Spacing inside the block. |
Outer spacing | Spacing around the block. |
How to use it
- Set a line limit (e.g., 2–3 lines) if you include the description. Without a limit, long texts can make the cards vary greatly in height.
- Use the short description on the cards and save the long one for the product page. Short text is read faster in a list.
- Keep the text color subdued relative to the title and price, so the description supports without competing.
Tips
- Many stores completely omit the description on the cards for a cleaner look and let the image, title, and price stand on their own. Consider if it actually helps the customer choose.
- «Show long description» assumes that the products have a long description filled out. If only the short one is filled out, it will be displayed regardless.
