Short description

This feature allows you to give customers a preview of what your product offers, right at the top of the page. By writing a short and catchy description, you can capture customers' interest and encourage them to learn more.

Activation of extension

To access this functionality, it must first be activated through extensions.

How does it work?

Write a brief description: When you edit a product, you will find a field for "Brief description". Here you can write a text that provides a quick overview of the product's main features and benefits.

"Read more" button: You choose where you want to place the brief description, but it is most common to display it at the top of the product page, along with a button that says "Read more".

Full description: When the customer clicks on "Read more", the entire regular product description will be displayed.

Why is this useful?

Captures attention: A short and concise description can be more effective than a long text when it comes to capturing customers' attention.

Better user experience: Customers quickly get an impression of the product and can choose whether they want to read more or not.

Increased sales: By highlighting the main benefits of the product, you can increase the likelihood of customers adding it to the shopping cart.

Settings

In the design builder, you must add a separate block on the product page to display the brief description.
This block can be found in the "Product purchase" section.

The block has the following settings that make it easy to configure the appearance and behavior as desired:

Display of the read more button: When active, a "Read more" link is displayed that takes the customer to the regular complete product description, which is often placed further down the page.

Color of the link: Specify the color of the "Read more" link.

Font size: Change the size of the brief description.

Font weight: Change the thickness of the font in the brief description.

Advanced settings: Under advanced settings you will find options for margin, which allows you to adjust the distance to the blocks above/below.

Fallback method

Here you can choose what should be displayed *if* the product does not have a brief description defined.

None: No description is displayed in the brief description field, and the customer must scroll down to the regular product description.

Standard description: If a brief description is missing, the standard description will be displayed in the field. Note that this can make for a lot of space in the field where the brief description is normally displayed. It is therefore recommended to use option 1, "None".
