What is a minimum order limit?

A minimum order limit is the lowest total value a customer must have in their shopping cart in order to complete an order.

This can be useful for:

• reducing the number of very small orders
• ensuring each order is profitable to process
• covering costs related to packing, shipping, and payment processing

How to activate a minimum order limit

Step 1: Install the extension

1. Go to Extensions → Your extensions
2. Search for Minimum order limit
3. Click + Install extension

Step 2: Set the minimum limit

1. Go to Configuration → Settings → Minimum order limit
2. Enter the desired minimum order value
3. Click Save

Note:

• The amount must be entered as a whole number

How does the minimum order limit work?

When the minimum order limit is activated:

• The customer must have at least the specified amount in the cart
• The order cannot be completed until the minimum amount is reached

If the minimum limit is not reached:

• The customer will see a message in the cart
• Checkout will be blocked until the minimum amount requirement is met

Minimum order limit with multiple currencies

If your online store supports multiple currencies, you can:

• set a specific minimum amount per currency, or
• use the amount defined for the default currency

If no specific limit is set for an active currency, the system will automatically convert the amount from the default currency using the current exchange rate.

How the minimum order limit is shown to customers

• How the minimum order limit is displayed depends on the design template.
• In Design Builder, the minimum order limit is displayed directly in the cart together with the total amount.

This allows customers to easily see:

• how much more they need to add before completing the order

If the minimum amount has not been reached, a popup message will also appear in the cart.

Important to know

• The minimum order limit applies to all customers
• It is not possible to set different minimum amounts per customer group
• The feature applies to both private customers and business customers
• Not all design templates visually display the minimum order limit

Troubleshooting

The minimum order amount is not displayed in the store

• This may happen if the design template does not support displaying the minimum order limit.
• Currently, visual display is only supported in the Belgrade template.
• Even if the minimum amount is not displayed visually, it will still be enforced in the cart.

What if this does not solve the problem?

• Verify that the extension is installed
• Check that the minimum amount has been saved
• Test a purchase in the cart
• Contact Mystore support if the feature does not work as expected
