Switch from old design template to Design Builder
Our older design templates are being phased out.
As the older design templates are phased out, they will no longer be further developed. To ensure stable operation, modern functionality, and continued support, you must switch to Acendy's Design Builder.
The Design Builder replaces the older design templates and provides a more modern, flexible, and future-proof way to work with the design and customization of your online store.
All online stores using older design templates will receive information about the transition deadline via email. The transition must be completed by the deadline to ensure continued support and development of your online store.
Why is this happening?
We understand that changes can feel both unnecessary and a bit demanding. This is not being done to create extra work for you. The reason is that the older design templates are built on technology that can no longer be further developed in a way that provides the stability, speed, and flexibility modern online stores need.
For your online store to function optimally in the years to come, it must therefore transition to a solution built for the future. Once you have switched to the Design Builder, this will also be the platform we continue to develop, and the only solution you will need to deal with going forward.
The Design Builder offers you several advantages:
- New features and improvements, which are only launched in the Design Builder
- Easier editing, with more flexible design options
- Future-proof technology, so your online store keeps pace with developments
The switch does not happen automatically
The transition to the Design Builder does not happen automatically. The upgrade must be performed manually via the Design Builder before the deadline. For online stores that want help, there is an alternative, Byttefiks. This is a service where Acendy assists with setting up a new theme in the Design Builder for the store.

Do I lose current content when switching?
No. Products, categories, shipping, and technical setup will be carried over. Only the visual expression, such as colors, fonts, banners, and layout, will be redone.
Think of it as changing the cladding on a house: the content remains, the facade becomes new and modern.
Do I lose customizations and custom CSS when I switch to the Design Builder?
If you use an older design template with custom CSS or special customizations, these will not be automatically transferred when you switch to the Design Builder. Much of what was previously solved with custom CSS is now directly supported in the Design Builder through built-in settings, sections, and flexible design choices.

- Log in to Acendy Control Panel.
- Open Design > Your design > Select theme.

Årsaken er at de eldre designmalene er bygget på teknologi som ikke lenger kan videreutvikles på en måte som gir den stabiliteten, hastigheten og fleksibiliteten moderne nettbutikker trenger. For at nettbutikken din skal fungere optimalt i årene som kommer, må den derfor over på en løsning som er bygget for fremtiden. Når du først har byttet til Designbyggeren, er dette også plattformen vi videreutvikler, og den eneste løsningen du trenger å forholde deg til fremover.Mister jeg innholdet mitt?
Nei. Produkter, kategorier, fraktoppsett og tekniske innstillinger blir med videre. Det er kun det visuelle designet som bygges på nytt.Forsvinner bildene mine?
Produktbilder forsvinner ikke. Bannerbilder som var knyttet til det gamle designet må lastes inn på nytt.Koster dette noe?
