Product group support in Acendy
Do you support product groups?
We support the grouping of products for the Google Shopping feed. This is applicable, for example, when you have a T-shirt in several colors, with different sizes as variants.
Why should I use product groups?
In short, product groups (including variants) in the feed will result in more potential ad impressions. Each of the variants will be able to generate an impression. This gives potential customers the opportunity to see more of your products, which improves the user experience and potentially increases the conversion rate from your ads.
Here is an example: I have a sweater that I sell in three different colors, in different sizes. Initially, Google does not know that this is actually the same product. If you group them, we will show in the Google Shopping feed that the products belong to the same group, and we will also show each size as a separate product.
How do I create new product groups?
Option 1: create a product group first, and then add products
If you go to "Product catalog > Product groups" in the main menu in the control panel, you will come to the page shown above. There you can click on "New product group".
Then give the group a name, and search for the products that you want to add to this group.
Option 2: find products in a category, and merge them into a group
Under "Product catalog > Products" you can go to a category that contains the products you want to group. Select one of them, and click "Group":
Then select all the products you want to group, select "Add product to new product group", and click "Save". This will create a new group to which all selected products are linked.
Can I see if a product is linked to a product group?
If you edit a product, you will see a tab called "Product groups". If you click on this, the group the product is linked to will be preselected in the drop-down menu that appears. If you want to move the product to another group, you can do so from the drop-down menu.
Do I have to do anything for sizes and other variants to be displayed in the Google Shopping feed?
No, once you have grouped the products, these will be displayed with variants in the feed. Note that products that are not in a product group will not be displayed with variants.
Note: If you do not find "product groups" in your control panel, please contact customer service and we will activate this function for your store.
