Change image displayed in a Facebook link
How to Change the Image Displayed in a Facebook Link
Learn how to change the image that appears when you share a link from your online store on Facebook. This article provides a step-by-step guide to ensure your shared links display the desired image.
Image Size
To ensure the image looks its best on all devices when you share a link, the image should be 1200×628 pixels. This is Facebook's recommended size for images when sharing a link and/or link ads. You can create a collage with multiple images and text, but make sure you use the correct size: 1200×628 pixels.
How to Add and Replace Images in Your Online Store
- First, check if "Facebook like buttons" are installed under "Configuration" > "Social media."
- Go to "Design" > "Your design" > "Design settings."
- Select "Advanced" and "General settings."
- Click "Select file" and upload an image that is 1200×628 pixels. Click "Save settings."
Image Not Updating Immediately?
If the new image doesn't appear when you try to share the link, we recommend using Facebook's free tool, Open Graph Debugger.
How to Use Open Graph Debugger:
- Click here to go to Open Graph Debugger.
- In the field that appears, paste the URL of the page and click "Debug."
- Further down the page, an image will appear showing the appearance of the image when you share the link. Click "Scrape again." Sometimes you have to press this button 2-3 times before you see the change you have made.
- When the new image appears, try pasting the URL to the page you want to share on the Facebook page. Now the new image should appear.
