Volume Based Shipping Calculation

This app allows you to define products that cannot be divided into multiple packages, such as a treadmill. You can then enter the volume of this product and get a correct shipping price when using, for example, Bring Cargo.

About Volume Based Shipping

Typically, an order over 35 kg will be divided into several packages so that it can be sent with the most common shipping methods.

The shipping methods we support that specifically handle large products are Postnord stykkgods and Bring Cargo. The way Postnord and Bring determine the price you get on a shipment is based on the weight and volume of the package. Their price lists are still only based on weight, therefore they have something called volume weight, a calculation of volume and weight. See these links for how this is calculated:

The highest of either the actual weight or the volume weight is what you will be charged for.

The app only works with Bring and PostNord's shipping methods.

How to Define Products

When this app is installed, you will get a new tag you can set on your products. When you edit a product in the control panel, you will find a separate tab for tags:

Here you can select the tag single_parcel_product. When asked for a value, enter the number 1.

Once you have updated the product, you will find fields for volume that you can fill out.
