Age verification for 16+ products
With this extension, you can mark your products that require the customer to be over 16 years of age.
Activation of extension
Before you can use this feature, both the extension and the product tag must be set up by Mystore. Please contact our support team for activation.
Mark products
Once everything is set up, you can mark each product that requires a 16+ age rating.
- Find the product you want to mark
- Open the “Tags” tab
- Turn on the “Age verification for 16+ products” tag
Display on product page
If a product is marked as “16+”, a banner will appear above the purchase button informing the customer that their age must be verified in the shopping cart before the purchase can be completed.
The text displayed on the product page can be customized.
Display in shopping cart
If the shopping cart contains one or more products marked as 16+, the end customer will have to verify their age before the checkout button becomes active.
Norwegian personal identification numbers are used for verification.
Important information!
This verification only uses your personal identification number to verify your age. It does not use external services for identification, such as BankID or similar.
If you wish to use the function for selling energy drinks/caffeinated beverages that have a 16-year age limit, you must also ensure age verification when delivering the goods.
Section 3.2: As a seller of energy drinks, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with the ban, regardless of whether you transport the energy drink to the buyer yourself or use a contracted transport company. If you use a transport company, you are still responsible for ensuring that age checks are carried out when the goods are delivered. You must have procedures in place to implement and monitor this.
