# Dashboard: Get started guide

## Dashboard: Get Started Guide

Stores that have not yet opened get a dedicated card at the top of the dashboard with a checklist of what needs to be in place. You mark each step as completed yourself — the checklist does not guess based on what is in the store.

The rest of the front page is described in Dashboard in the control panel.

## The Steps

| Step | What it covers |
| --- | --- |
| Add your store information | Company name, address, and contact details |
| Upload your logo | Give the store its own identity |
| Add your first product | Build the catalog so customers have something to buy |
| Configure a payment method | Klarna, card, or invoice |
| Configure shipping | How orders are delivered, and what it costs |
| Customize your design | The Design Builder |
| Connect your domain | Point your own web address to the store |
| Set up email domain and sender address | Verify the domain and choose the address the store sends from |
| Receive your first order | Share the store and watch orders come in |

The first two steps are only shown in demo stores. **Connect your domain** is removed as soon as the store has its own domain, and is not shown in demo stores at all — a domain is only connected when the store goes live.

The first unfinished step is marked **Next step**, and has a **Start** button that takes you directly there. Press the checkbox to the left to mark a step as completed, and press again to undo.

## One step checks itself off

**Add your first product** is automatically checked off as soon as the store has its own products. The checkbox is then locked and says *Completed — you have added products*

This is the only step that works this way, and the reason is that there's nothing to evaluate: either products exist, or they don't. «Has the store arranged payment?» is a matter of discretion — that a payment method is installed doesn't mean the store is done with payment. Therefore, the other steps are waiting for you.

Products that came with the demo store do not count. It's the products you've added yourself that mark the step as complete.

## The checkboxes apply to the entire store

When you mark a step as complete, your colleagues see it too. «Shipping is set up» is information about the store, not about you.

This differs from the rest of the dashboard: the order of sections, which ones are hidden, the VAT and shipping settings, and the choice between online store and POS system are on your own user account. Only the common checkboxes are.

The choice to hide completed steps is personal. If you hide them, you only change your own view.

## Stores already in operation

If the store is well underway, it won't get the checklist. It's considered in operation when one of these is true:

- The store has processed at least 10 orders — meaning orders someone has moved on from *not processed*, without canceling them.

- The store has its own domain and has processed at least one order.

- The store has both its own products and its own customers, even if it hasn't sold anything yet.

Demo stores always get the checklist. There, the guide is the whole point of the front page.

The reason this exists: an untouched checklist at the top of the front page is read as a judgment on the store. Stores that have been selling for years were asked to go and set up their store.

## Retrieve the guide again

In an active store, there is a link **Get started guide**, to the right of the introductory text at the top. Press it, and the card will reappear. If you want to put it away again, press **Hide guide**, at the top of the card.

Both the link and the option apply to the entire store, so the question is asked once per store and not once per user.

The card also disappears when everything is checked off. In a demo store, it remains, because the welcome message shares a card with the checklist.
