# Export of the trend report

You can download the trend report as CSV and continue working with the numbers in a spreadsheet. The export includes the view you are currently in — not everything.

## How to export

**1.** Set up the report as you want it: dimension, level, period, filters, and optionally search terms.

**2.** Click **Export** in the toolbar above the table.

**3.** Confirm with **Start export**

You will be redirected to the export page, and the file will appear there when it's ready. You will receive a notification when it's ready.

## The file will reflect your view

This is the point of confirming the export from the table: the CSV file will include

- the dimension (category or product) and level
- the period and what it is compared with, including custom dates
- sales channel, excl. VAT, returns, and minimum units
- manufacturer and supplier, when you have filtered by them
- the search term you had in the field

The file is therefore the report you were viewing, not a full dump of the store. If you want everything, reset the filters before exporting.

## Why it doesn't download immediately

The export is generated in the background instead of while you wait. For a store with many products and two years of history, a real-time download would take too long and likely time out.

Instead, the job is queued, and you can move on to something else. You can find the file under **Reports > Export**, where it has the status **Processing**Ready **or** Failed**. Completed files can be downloaded again as long as they are there, and deleted when you no longer need them.**

## Export from the detail view

The order list in the detail view has its own **Export**\-button, and it works similarly. That file contains the order lines for that one category or product — not the entire table.

## What to expect in the file

The columns follow the table: name, units, and revenue for both periods, changes, profit, and margin. If you are in the product view in a store with the supplier function enabled, **Manufacturer** and **Supplier** are included as separate columns.

Three things look different than on screen:

- Where the screen shows the label **New**, the file shows `new` in the file. There is no percentage change from zero.
- Where profit or margin is unknown, there is a dash — for the same reason as in the report: the purchase price is missing for those order lines.
- In the category view with **All levels**, the full path is in the name column, such as `Women / Tops / Jackets`. On the screen, the path is below the name; in a spreadsheet, a row that just says «Jackets» cannot be distinguished from the two other categories with the same name.

## Tips

- If you are forwarding the figures, include the basis on which they were retrieved. E.g., VAT with returns included is a different figure than the same row without.
- If you need both category and product level, run two exports. One file contains one dimension.
- If you want to sort by category in the spreadsheet, remember that the name column starts with the main category. The sorting therefore groups the path, not the leaf name.
