Upgraded shopping cart UI

This article describes how to update design and flow in America with "Cart Update 2021.2".

If you activate the settings, you will get an updated design on the /cart page that takes up less space on both desktop and mobile. The new update also includes a new view of total summary in cart and better specifies how much customers save with a discount or discount code. The new flow also includes an update on what happens when you add a product to your cart. When you add a product to the shopping cart, there will be a pop-up verifying that the product has been entered, but will be given the option to go to checkout or continue shopping.

We recommend all customers who have Americamalen to activate this design, but it is important to always check their traffic and conversion for major changes in the store. 

Settings and activation

You can find settings under design settings > advanced settings > Cart Update 2021.2

Updated flow checkout - This is the general setting for the change in checkout flow. It changes the UX/UI on the /cart page and activates the pop-up after the product has been added to cart. 

Comment and Discount Code - Choose whether you want to display the discount code and comment field on the cart page or if you want hide both or some of them. 

Show inventory text – Displays stock text on product on cart page if 

Background color "You save" widget  – Select the background color of the button that comes up when you have a discounted product at checkout. 

Show/Hide Emoji - Show or hide emoji on the "You save" button. 

Change button text at checkout (on /cart page) - Changes the text on the button. 

Show button to quick checkout on /cart page - View Quick Checkout/Business Checkout. 

Text on quick checkout button on /cart page - Select text on the button that goes to the quick checkout/business checkout. 

Turn off slide-in cart (shopping cart icon takes you directly to /cart) - This setting is on so  deactivates "Slide in cart" (image 2) when clicking on the icon (image 1). When you click on the icon, you will be directed to the /cart page directly. This is a setting that can be used if you want to move customers faster towards checkout.
