Presale
Presale is a feature that allows you to set how many of an ordered quantity can be presold before the purchase order is received.
For example, you have ordered 100 of an item, but only want to pre-sell 50 of these.
With presales, you can say on each line item in a purchase order how many to sell and what will happen when the quantity is reached.
Pre-sales are based on the reservations associated with a line item on purchases, so you define the pre-sale based on the maximum number of reservations .
What is required?
To use presales, two things are required:
- The store must have "Advanced Inventory Management"
- The store must allow overselling
How does it work?
After an order is submitted, a "Presale" column will appear.
From here, you can quickly adjust the product by clicking on the pen or selecting multiple/all products using the checkbox and then selecting "Customize Presale" in the Actions menu.
Select! If you choose to put pre-sales on several products at the same time, you will not be able to set maximum reservations, then the booked number will be set as max reservations.
- Update inventory group on main product upon activation (optional)
This selection allows you to change the inventory group that is active on the product right from the procurement module. For example, the product may have an inventory group that does not support overselling until you choose to enable pre-selling and then change to an inventory group that supports overselling. - Set the maximum number of reservations
How many of the ordered items will you allow to reserve? Here you can set from 1 to the ordered number.
If you bulk process items and set presales for multiple items at the same time, this field is disabled. - Switch to warehouse group when max reservations are reached
What should happen when the maximum number of reservations is reached? The most common is then to change to a warehouse group that does not support overselling, so that you do not receive more orders for the item.
Note: Inventory groups are on the main product only. If you have pre-sale of variants, you must either change the stock group on the main product (which affects all variants) or hide the variant with the checkbox underneath, - Change inventory group on receipt
With this, you can choose to change the stock group when the goods are received. The inventory group will only change when all items are received. This means that the stock group does not change if you only partially receive an item. It changes only when all of an item is received and there is 0 in the remainder. - Save/Cancel
Save or cancel buttons - Activate presales
This must be activated before the rules have effect. It also means that you can work on setup over time before finally activating it via the switch.
