This help article provides an overview of what subscription schemes look like on the product page, in the shopping cart and Klarna Checkout, as well as how they are managed in the control panel.
Introduction
With the subscription service, you can sell your products to customers at fixed or optional intervals. Customers have the option to choose how often they want to receive the products, and new orders are automatically created when it's time for a new delivery. All you have to do is process the orders as usual. You can choose whether the products should follow the price when ordering or any price changes for the product.
The payments for the bookings are made automatically with Klarna, and you receive the settlement as normal.
In the control panel you can easily choose whether all or selected products should be offered as subscriptions. For example, if you want all products in a certain category to be available as a subscription, you can easily add the subscription badge via bulk change.
As an incentive, you can choose to offer a discount on your first order. You can also choose to offer a fixed discount on subsequent orders.
Control panel setup
Once the app is installed in your online store, we will enter the default intervals you wish to offer for the subscription schemes. We also customize the setup so that it works seamlessly with your current system.
Settings that must be set up before first use
- Subscription shipping rate
- Intervals to display in the store
- Floating or fixed product price
- Subscription to all or selected products
Activation of subscription scheme on products
To activate the subscription program on a product, follow these steps:
1: Add the tag "abb" via the "Tags" tab on the product page.
Please contact customer service via the chat in the control panel if you do not see the option for the tag "abb".
Once you have placed the tag on your first product, you can use the "Mass Change" tool to place the tag on the rest of the products to be offered on subscription.
How to give a discount
You can choose whether you want to offer a fixed discount on subscription orders or a discount on the first order. This is determined via tags.
Fixed discount
Use the tag "abb_rabatt_prosent" - enter 20 for a 20% discount
Discount on first order
Use the tag "abb_rabatt_forste_prosent" - enter 20 for a 20% discount.
View in the online store
Product page
When customers visit the product page, they will be given the option to order the product with or without a subscription scheme. This option gives customers flexibility in the buying process.
The shopping cart and Klarna Checkout
In the shopping cart, customers can easily choose how often they want to receive the products. This makes it convenient for them to customize the subscription scheme according to their needs.
In Klarna Checkout, it will be clear to the customer that they complete the purchase with a subscription. This gives a clear overview of the type of purchase they make and which payment terms apply.
How to manage in control panel
Order processing
The orders are automatically created based on the interval that customers select when purchasing. The orders are marked as subscription orders in the overview, and the orders can be processed and sent as regular orders.
Manage subscriptions
By navigating to Orders/Customers > Recurring Orders , you can access the management of your subscription orders. Here's an overview of all the subscriptions created on your store. In the overview you can choose to change the interval, pause, cancel or create a new order.

What happens if klarna does not approve the order
If a payment doesn't go through, it gets a status of Cancelled. We will try to charge your order the next day for up to 3 days. If it does not work out, this attempt will be dropped and the next attempt will be at the next interval.
The solution requires approval by Klarna and that you have Klarna Checkout v3.
To check if your agreement supports subscriptions, you can contact Klarna on salg@klarna.no and enter your Merchant ID which you can find under Configuration > General > Klarna in the mystore control panel.
