Why does Google require advertiser identity verification?
The goal of the change is to increase trust in the ads ecosystem by giving users more information about who advertisers actually are. Advertiser identity verification verifies the names of advertisers and their countries through a phased launch of the programme. This is part of the effort to increase transparency and give users more choice and control.
If you're selected to complete advertiser identity verification, you'll receive an email and an account notification with instructions.
To verify your identity, follow the instructions in the received email or visit Google Ads
to the "Tools and Settings" menu > "Billing" > "Settings".
Click "Get Started" in the "Identity Verification" section.
A pop-up will open asking you to consent to that name and location appearing in your ads announcement.
Click on "Accept and continue".
If you're not a Google Ads admin, you'll need to contact an account manager to begin the verification process. You'll be asked to verify your identity. Review and upload the required documents, then click Submit. Only payment managers can submit documents.
