You've probably read about SSL, HTTPS, secure and insecure web solutions, but what does it really mean for you as a store owner, or as a customer of an online store? This and more we try to explain in this article.

What are the benefits of having a secure online store?
The fact that the online store is secure, i.e. using HTTPS instead of HTTP, provides security in two important areas:
- Verifying that your browser is talking directly to the server on which the online store is hosted.
- Ensures that only the right server can receive what you send (e.g. your credit card data) and that only your browser can read what the server sends back.
This means, for example, that if you sit in a café and shop in a secure online store, you can rest assured that your credit card details will not end up in the wrong hands.
In recent times , major players such as Google have now set requirements for online stores to be secure, if they want to rank well in search results.
Is my store secure?
Modern browsers usually indicate secure websites with a padlock icon, e.g. in Google Chrome you will see this in the address bar; the text "Secure" next to a green padlock, and you can also see that the address (URL) begins with https://.
Install HTTPS
HTTPS is free, as we consider this a natural part of a modern platform.
Installation of HTTPS occurs automatically when the domain is connected and selected as the primary domain. Automatic activation of HTTPS occurs every 4 hours.
If you have multiple domains, simply contact customer service to enable HTTPS on the remaining domains
