Global search in control panel

At the top of the control panel is a very powerful search function, internally called "omnisearch" (one search for the entire control panel).

Not only can you search for products, but you can search menu items, orders, tracking numbers and much more. Best of all, it can be used with keyboard shortcuts!

Open the seach

To open the search bar, you can click on the magnifying glass at the top of the control panel, or even easier: just press . (dot)! It doesn't get any easier than that! 🥳

What can be search for?

The search supports searches for the following info and features:

• Order
• Customer
• Product
• Menu item
• Purchase order
• Settings
• Tracking number (shows orders that belong to a tracking number)

Specific search (power user)

If you want to search within one of the categories above, you can use a prefix.
For example, if you only want to search for a customer, you can type k: Kalle Klovn.
The search will then only search among customers with that name. If you do not use a prefix, the search would also return results in orders etc.

Navigating

The search allows you to use the keyboard for searching and navigation. At the bottom of the window you will see available keyboard shortcuts at all times.

These are:

• Dot: activate search
• ESC (Escape): close search
• Arrow up/down: scroll up/down in the result
• Enter: open
• Arrow right: open preview in search results
• Arrow left: close preview
• O: If the result shows e.g. 5 out of 10 matches, "O" will open a list of all matches

Filtrering

After a search, you can use the filter at the top to only show hits within orders, customers, etc.

Each filter also shows how many hits there are in each of these.
