Connecting a domain

In this article, we go through how to set up your domain with your online store on our platform.

What is a domain? 

A domain is the address you use to connect your website to the internet. For example, "mystore.no" is a domain name.

When you activate an online store with us, the store is assigned an internal Mystore name. For example, this internal name might be "minbutikk.mystore4.no," where "store name" is the name that you entered when you created the demo store. Before you've connected your own domain name to your online store, this internal name is used to view your store and log into your control panel to make changes.

To fix your domain, you'll need help from a domain provider. Once you own a domain and have connected it to our IP addresses, you can use it. The process for linking your domain varies depending on your domain provider, but usually it involves setting up CNAME and A records with specific values. After you've set up your domain, it can take up to 24 hours for everything to be set up correctly. If the domain is not marked as "TLS" within 24 hours, you should contact support for assistance.

Do you have an existing online store or service on your domain?

If you have an existing online store or service on your domain that you are moving from, it is very important that you reduce TTL on the domain so that users experience minimal disruption to the transition. If you do not know how to do this, we recommend that you contact your domain provider for assistance.

Can I have my online store on a subpage, e.g. /shop/?

Unfortunately, we do not support webshops on subpages (e.g. /shop/). Instead, we recommend creating your online store on a subdomain, such as "butikk.butikknavn.no".

Add your domain to your online store's control panel

To connect a domain to your store, it needs to specify what the domain for your store is. You do this in the control panel via Configuration > Domain Name. The domain must be registered without a WWW in front, but if a subdomain is used, e.g. shop.butikknavn.no, this must be specified.

This process is recommended and done in a period of time with the least amount of traffic for established online stores.

NOTE!- Certificate will not be immediately available and the domain cannot be set as the primary domain. This process can take up to 24 hours, if the domain is not marked as TLS within 24 hours, please contact Customer Support.

Create domain pointers with your domain provider

This setup is the same regardless of which domain provider you use, but the interface of the providers will vary. If you can't find your way around, we recommend contacting your domain provider for help. Below you will find the setup of the most used domain providers among our customers.

This is done at your domain provider
The CNAME should be set to load.mystore4.no
A-record is set up to IP 54.195.240.169 and 52.17.124.116 at top level.


Domeneshop.no

  1. Log in to Domeneshop

  2. Click My Domains

  3. Click on the domain to be set up

  4. Select the DNS Pointers tab

  5. Select Show advanced settings


  6. Create two A recordswith the following information:

    1. - Host name: leave this blank
      - TTL: 10800 (3 hours)
      - RR type: A
      - Data: 54,195,240,169
      Then press +

    2. - Host name: leave this blank
      - TTL: 10800 (3 hours)
      - RR type: A
      - Data: 52.17.124.116
      Then press +

  7. Set up the CNAME record with the following information:
    - Host name: www
    - TTL: 10800 (3 hours)
    - RR type: CNAME
    - Data: load.mystore4.no
    Then press +

  8. You can now go to the last step sette domenet som primærdomene i kontrollpanelet til nettbutikken.

Add SPF to DomainShop. Request SPF from Kundeservice@mystore.no

  1. Click My Domains

  2. Search for the domain if you have several and click on the given domain

  3. Click on DNS Pointers and enable Advanced Settings

  4. Then add DKIM: HostName, 1 hour, TXT format and their SPF DKIM text without " front of and behind. Then tap add +
     

  5. Then add Return-Path: HostName, 1 hour, CNAME, and Value. Then tap add +
     

You have now set up general SPF and Domain at Domeneshop.no


Domene.no

  1. Log in to Domain

  2. Click Domain Name

  3. Click Manage on your domain

  4. Click Control Panel under Direct Login

    You will now be redirected to "cPanel"

  5. Under Domains, tap Zone Editor

  6. Tap Manage on your domain

  7. Add Two A Records:

    1. Tap + Add Mail

      - Name: [domain name]. (Important that you include a period at the end, ex: butikknavn.no.)
      - Type: A
      - Entry: 54,195,240,169
      Then tap Save Record
      Example:
       

    2. Repeat the step above with this value.
      - Name: [domain name]. (Important that you include periods at the end, e.g.: butikknavn.no.)
      - Type: A
      - Entry: 52.17.124.116
      Then tap Save Record

  8. Add one CNAME Record:
    Tap + Add Mail

    - Name: www. [domain name]. (Important that you include a period at the end, ex: www.butikknavn.no.)
    - Type: CNAME
    - Entry: load.mystore4.no
    Then tap Save Record

  9. You can now go to the last step sette domenet som primærdomene i kontrollpanelet til nettbutikken.


One.com

  1. Log in to One.com control panel.

  2. Click DNS Settings under the Advanced Settings tab.

  3. Go to DNS records.

  4. Under create new entry , click A.

  5. Provide the following information:
    - Host name: leave this blank
    - IP address: 54.195.240.169
    - TTL: 10800
    Click Create new entry to save your settings.

  6. Then repeat with this value:
    - Host name: leave this blank
    - IP address: 52.17.124.116
    - TTL: 10800
    Click Create new entry to save your settings.

  7. Under create new entry, click CNAME.

  8. Provide the following information:


  9. - Subdomain: www
    - Alias: load.mystore4.no
    - TTL: 10800

  10. Click Create new entry to save your settings.

You can now go to the last step sette domenet som primærdomene i kontrollpanelet til nettbutikken.

Add SPF to One.Com Request SPF from Kundeservice@mystore.no


Proisp.no

  1. Log in to PRO ISP.

  2. Tap Domains

  3. Press + on your domain

  4. Tap DNS control

  5. Create two Arecords with the following information:

    1. - Servant : leave this blank
      - Type: A
      - A data: 54,195,240,169
      Then tap Add

    2. - Servant : leave this blank
      - Type: A
      - A data: 52.17.124.116
      Then tap Add

  6. Create the CNAME record with the following information:
    - Server: www. [domain name] (ex: www.butikknavn.no)
    - Type: CNAME
    - Cname data: load.mystore4.no
    Then tap Add

  7. You can now go to the last step sette domenet som primærdomene i kontrollpanelet til nettbutikken.


Webhuset.no

  1. Log in to Webhuset

  2. Tap on the globe of the domain:


  3. Tap New Entry and select A Record

    Create with the following information:
    - Entry: leave this blank
    - Goals: 54,195,240,169
    Then tap Create

  4. Repeat step 3. with the following information:
    - Entry: leave this blank
    - Goals: 52.17.124.116
    Then tap Create

  5. Tap New Entry and select CNAME record

    Create with the following information:
    - Entry: www
    - Alias by: load.mystore4.no
    Then tap Create

  6. You can now go to the last step sette domenet som primærdomene i kontrollpanelet til nettbutikken.



Set the domain as the primary domain in the control panel of your online store

Once the CNAME and A record are set up it will take some time before this is pushed out around the world, this can vary greatly. Normally this will take about 4 hours.

Before you can set the domain as the primary domain, it must be a certificate, which we automatically issue within 24 hours of the domain being pointed to us. The domain will be marked as TLS when this is in order. You are then ready to go in your online store Control Panel -> Configuration -> Domain name and set the domain as "Primary domain".

This is necessary to get the links in your online store to point correctly.
